My dog is hysterical. He'll actuall walk up to the water bowl, bury his nose in the water and blow bubbles.
It’s really funny to watch (I should send a video to AFV), but he makes a huge mess all over the kitchen floor. How can I break him of this?

go to a hanging water bottle for a while. than try the bowl again
My dog does that too. It cracks me up. He’s a 6 month old Golden Retriever. If you find away to break him of this let me know. I just say "No" when I catch mine at it and then he stops.
LOL sooo cute!
Can you send us a video pleaseee
you can try to put water down for him, let him drink, and then pick it up. In about an hour, you can put it down again, and if he doesn’t drink, pick it up. You can just make sure his water habits are supervised. Obviously this isn’t possible at all times, and if you’re unable to be around for awhile, you need to make sure you have water available.
You could also try keeping very shallow water in at all times, and allow a "fun bubble bucket" outside for play. You can encourage the playing outside, and encourage the normal drinking inside.
Just a couple ideas
lmao how cute is that?!
don’t have any suggestions for you though, sorry
GET HIM SOME WATER TO PLAY IN!!! Kiddy pools work great for dogs that like water.
my puppy does it to. she is a almost 5 month old chocolate lab. i think it is totaly worth a video i have been trying to get it to but cant quite catch her. she does it when i put ice cubes of leaves in her bowl!
dont you just love puppies i do! but i would sure try for a video!
Some dogs grow out of it and some don’t. I would suggest a bigger bowl with the same amount of water as the bowl you have now. Also they have these doggie placemats you put on the floor. I’ve seen some that have a lip around the edge to keep things from ending up all over the place. Might want to pick up one of those too.

haha that sounds cute. But maybe you could try putting down a mat or something under his bowl. Thats what we do with my dog… cause she sometimes goes crazy and digs in her water bowl… but some of the waterproof mats obsorb the water fast and u dont have much of a problem… unless water drips from your dogs chinish thing then idk what to tell u
Is your dog getting enough exercise and mental stimulation. Most often this is a sign of boredom; your dog is searching for ways to "entertain" himself. Some dogs dig, chew, ect…yours blows bubbles
You will notice a VAST improvement if you take your dog out for some hard core exercise. Running, frisbee, fetch, swimming; he really needs to push himself in order to release his energy.
Also have "training" sessions throughout the day. Teach him new cute tricks, or just work on basics. Mental stimulation combats boredom almost as well as physical.
He wants to go swimming!
I have no idea…
You have a pooch!! Great news, indeed.
you need to stop doing it yourself, you are setting the bad example.
