My dog has spit up twice and refuses to drink water, is there something wrong?

.

Earlier, I took my dog to the dog park. Before we went, she was perfectly fine and dandy. Just before we left, she coughed twice. At the dog park, she drank from a container that many other dogs drank from…..I stopped it, but not after she got a decent amount of water from the container. It had all kinds of the other dogs’ slobber floating around in it. I let her have water, but from my own container after that. She came home, spit up some of her dinner, and went to bed. A little later, she spit of water again and now she refuses to drink her water this evening. I wouldn’t normally find this odd, but she always drinks water until the bowl is empty (we are forced to regulate her water). Is this something I should let sit a while, or should I take her to a vet first thing tomorrow?

P.S. She is up on her vaccinations and has been de-wormed.

If your dog is on regulated water normally, then overdrank at the dog park and threw up, she may not want more just now.

If she wakes in the morning and drinks normally for her, I’d probably mention it the next time I were at the vet, but no more.

If she doesn’t drink in the morning (or hasn’t gotten up to drink overnight), I’d call the vet.

Sometimes my dogs do this when they get a little overheated. Keep her cool and calm & see how she does.

wow poor doggie sometimes when my dog spits up or yakes i give her a few saltean crackers they help settle her stomach you might want to try it cause it really works.
also there is some kinda bug dogs are picking up from other dogs and its coming from contamated water you might get more info from your vet.

I would certainly monitor her tonight. If her condition worsens then you need to ring the after hours number for the vet. Overnight is a very long time for a sick dehydrated dog so you need to keep a bit of a vigil going. Maybe she has something stuck in her mouth or further down in her gullet. You should at least check her mouth. Try giving her small amounts of water but if she continues to throw up then she needs to go to the vet immediately.

You need to get your dog to the vet. It could be parvo, this is spread thru dog and can be transmitted by the grass or where ever a dog with parvo has been. It is very contagious and deadly mostly in puppies IF NOT TREATED

Yeah, I think it’s time to take her to the vet and monitor her before you do so.
