Is it legal to put a lost pet sign on your neighbors doors?
My ferret is missing and I believe he must have gotten out. My neighbors are all at work, and I was wondering if there were any laws against random people going door to door putting signs on peoples front door or mailbox… without a Business license?

you can put it on their doors, dont put it in the mailbox, That I’ve discovered is illegal, the post office claims they own those..
Also Why not put a Large sign in your front yard or window?
We had a ferret long long ago, and by we I mean my roommate. The dammable thing was always getting out of her cage and "lost" in the house. while we searched high and low it was always found inside, in a closet.. in the sock drawer, under all the clothes in the wash..
Its where I learned the most valuable ferret lesson. When they are lost, list the 10 places they could not possibly be, then look there. I finally got the little bugger hooked on canned cat food. It wasn’t her regular diet. She would come barreling out of what ever space she found to hide and the sound of can opener

Not if you don’t permanently attach it. Just put it in their door folded up so they get it when they get home. I would hate to meet the old curmudgeony jerk who would sue you for looking for your lost ferret. I hope you find him.
put it on their mailbox or something. or you can just give them the lost pet sign
if you tape it to then it can be but you can slip it in their mailbox or roll it up and stick it between the door knob and the door frame
surely not,your looking not soliciting,people put flyers on our cars all the time when out shopping.unless your neighbor says something to you,don;t worry about it.good luck.
Ask first
you can put the fliers in people’s mail boxes, but it you try to tape/staple/whatever them to somebody else’s property then it’s vandalism which is illegal. If you try to do it on public property then it’s littering which is also illegal, though you probably won’t be prosecuted for putting up a few lost pet poster on trees.
It won’t be a problem. DO NOT put it in the mailbox though; that is a federal offense. It is doubtful they would prosecute, but don’t do it.
