How far is to far with a pet?

He has his own bed, lots of toys, sleeps in my bed every night. I feed him out of my hands and wont eat anything unless I feed it to him. Drinks bottled water out of a little minutuare cup for him. I take him every where and I wont let nobody else hold him. Every time he seems diffrent I have to take him to the vet. So I ask you is Cupid to spoiled my Family all think he is. I have him his own bank account, i mean what would he do when Im gone?

Don’t forget to give the dog his PIN number so he can get at the bank account when you’re gone. Make sure he knows how to write a cheque, and I don’t know why you haven’t given him a credit card yet.

i think alot of that is a little bit too far. most dogs that get overly spoiled tend to have horrible behavior problems down the line. because the dog will think it is the dominant one and wont listen thats why it is important to disipline them and still be nice to them. you should watch the dog whisperer more often it can help you and your dog greatly

Yes, that’s WAY too far. The bank account is ok for vet bills. But it’s a DOG not a person. It’s not some toy you can dress up, and it’s not a baby.
Taking him to the vet when he acts different is good, but the other stuff is over the top.

I feel I spoil my puppy also, but I want him to be socialized so I let others play and hold him and he plays with other dogs. Your dog needs to be socialized or else he will fear others. You shouldn’t feed him from your hands, use a bowl. If something happens to you, someone else should be able to care for him. I understand you love him, I love my dog too but you should get him socialized, and get him his own bowl for food. I sleep with my dog everynight, thats the only way I want it to be. So, just work on those and your fine.

it is really something that only you can decide for youself. but how about a friend or friendship with a person.

well there was a guy who lived in md .. he passed away & left his 2 dogs the house. It was in his will for them to inherit the house. I mean of course the dogs have a care taker

I love my 2 dogs …… They have run of the closed in back porch & the yard, they sleep on a twin bed which sits on an old pool table top…….

a dog can’t have a bank account. I like your question though. Too bad you overexaggerated/lied.

I’m the same way, my dogs even have their own room. People don’t understand that dogs are a part of the family, and they need to be treated good, even better, they are better than people. I don’t think he is too spoiled, hes what everydog owner should be like. Although, I think you should let other people hold him, he would like that.

By spoiling your dog in this manner, you are being cruel to him. If you should have to leave (God forbid, but lets say you go to the hospital for a week), how could anyone possibly care for him? You are worshipping this animal and it is putting him at risk.

You went way to far by the 3rd sentence.

Yes. Your dog is far too spoiled. The problem with spoiling animals is that it actually tends to give them anxiety problems. They get extremely attached to you in an unhealthy way, which is obvious if your dog will only eat out of your hand. You are doing your dog an emotional disservice by treating him like a human.

On the other hand, I would rather hear of people loving their dogs too much than abusing them, so for that I am thankful.

For your dogs sake, if you love him, please try to wean him of some of these behaviors. It will help you both be a bit more fulfilled, and he won’t love you any less.
