How do I block the signal from my dog's RF collar to keep it from unlocking his dog door from upstairs?

.

The door opens when he gets in range of it (about 5 feet) however when he’s upstairs in the room above the door it also unlocks (12 feet or so). I’m trying to find out if there is a way to block the signal so it doesn’t cycle through the unlock/lock all night.

  1. Stephen P says:

Make a reflector out of aluminum foil or disposable pie pan (or any other flat piece of metal) and put it near the receiver so it blocks the signal coming from above.

  2. Randy says:

try running the door(Receiver) with an adapter instead of batteries. Then run the adapter through a 24 hour timer with the ON time set for the hours you wish it to be open.At night the door will be shut off even if the collar isn’t.

Try contacting the manufacturer of the door, other than that, remove the collar or the battery for the night.
